RHS Malvern Autumn show

September is such a busy time of year and there isn’t much of a break between the shows. It’s really quite a rollercoaster! I was exhibiting here with Boffy Art markets.

Pegasus at Cape Cornwall

Cape Cornwall has to be one of my favourite places; it’s so wild and the atmosphere is magical. Here is Pegasus galloping and nearly in flight on the cape.

Demonstrating at Hever castle

I thought that I would include Pegasus into the landscape of Cape Cornwall. The Tudor back drop of Hever Castle made me feel like creating a whimsical painting.

A mermaid at Durdle Door

This is an imaginative painting that I was working on at Hyde hall. We had visited Lulworth Cove recently and I was struck by the beautiful turquoise blue of the sea. I could just have imagined a mermaid basking on the rocks in the sunlight.

My Stand at Hyde hall with Craft in Focus

Hyde hall is a lovely event to take part in and always enjoy demonstrating painting. It keeps me busy in between chatting to customers and it also gives me something to talk about.

Preparing for exhibiting at Hyde Hall with Craft in focus

I have recently collected some new framed paintings from the framers for exhibiting next week at Hyde Hall in Essex. It’s very satisfying to see the collection of new work put together and important to have new stuff to show.

Cats and Birds

I began this painting a few months ago at the Spring Garden Malvern show. It’s an imaginary painting inspired by cats in our nearby town gardens. The colourful pigeons which are dotted about the gardens in the vegetation, are watching the cats. I really enjoy experimenting with unusual plant shapes and interspersing them in the […]

Terraced Gardens jigsaw puzzle

I am very excited to have one of my designs turned into a jigsaw puzzle. The company “Puzzly” chose the design “Terraced Gardens”; which you can find in the gallery section of my website under “House and Garden”.

Lulworth Cove

Easter seems quite a long time ago now and we had a lovely break in Dorset; which motivated me to paint Lulworth cove. I made some drawings and took a few photographs to help create this new piece of work. I like to draw on memories and add a dreamy imaginative feeling whilst the bunting […]

The Peacock Garden

I mixed iridescent paint in with yellow ochre for the sand to give this painting a white reflective heat. I particularly enjoyed painting the peacock’s feathers and the diverse feathers of the other birds, experimenting with bright colours and flashes of gold.
