Caemes Cove in Anglesey

While I was staying in Anglesey with my family recently I made this small study of Caemes Cove. I kept a sketch book and I am planning to create more paintings of the beautiful landscapes and lighthouses that we saw on walks along the coast.
Exhibiting at the Three Counties Show

It was very snug in the marquee at the “Three Counties show” in Malvern and it was great to meet up again and see some familiar faces of people who visited my stand. While I often prefer to be in the fresh air we were protected from the torrential rainfall on a few occasions!
Time Travel through dance, Pattern and Rhythm

This Summer I shall again be teaching at Chichester University as part of a Summer school with Margaret Morris Movement. I shall be combining my skills of Theatre Design and Dance to teach some workshops. It’s great to draw on my different skills and pull them together in this interesting project culminating in a performance […]
Inspired by Looe Harbour

I created this painting while I was on my stand at the Three Counties Show in Malvern. I made the sketch at home and enjoyed building up the layers of colours to create the atmosphere. It isn’t an accurate painting of Looe, more an imaginary place which allows me more artistic licence. I had fun […]
A view of St. Ives from a boat

I spent quite a while on this painting of a view of St.Ives, even though it is only small. I used some photographic reference but I wanted to capture the atmosphere of light and colour including movement without being too specific and to draw upon my memories of being there.
Twr Mawr at Ynys Llanddwyn

I have just finished this painting of a lighthouse in Anglesey, Wales. I enjoyed adding the wild flowers and grasses in the foreground. I loved the winding pathway that led up to the lighthouse.
Exhibiting at Hever Castle with Craft in Focus

This year my individual marquee alongside the other crafts people and artists, overlooked Hever castle with it’s moat and gardens. This was such an inspiring backdrop in which to paint. There was some beautiful topiary which I might explore in some new garden paintings.
In front of my stand at the RHS Spring Garden show in Malvern

It was fun meeting up with returning customers and fellow exhibitors at the Spring garden show at Malvern last week and over the weekend. The show ended with a very dramatic storm of thunder and lightening and I was so glad to be exhibiting inside one the barns this year!
A woodland scene

I couldn’t resist popping a few fairies into this painting and I think I shall paint in a few more woodland animals too. I find it easier to finish my paintings at home in my studio to refine details and complete with finishing touches such as specks of gold.
Demonstrating painting at Wisley RHS Gardens

Here I am working on several paintings. A woodland scene was inspired by the surrounding trees and undergrowth.
