This summer was perfect for painting a garden scene. The constant heat and warmth that was continuously emanating made me feel like was in the Mediterranean and it helped to create the atmosphere. It was an historic piece; a garden that no longer exists. I wanted to give this art work an ethereal quality, dreamlike and delicate. It was based on a past reality that was full of affection and a touch of romance.
