Painting “Rewilding of the fishing pool”

Last week I enjoyed teaching at home with a lady who wanted to have a one to one lesson. We went out sketching “en plein air” to a local fishing pool that is no longer in use. This is my version of the pool. It has a small bamboo island and a little man-made bridge to reach it, made of wooden sticks and branches. I should imagine some children built it to make a den in the middle of the island; just the sort of thing we used to do when we were children. I intend to add more animals and small woodland creatures that hide and forage in the undergrowth.
