The Wyre Forest is particularly beautiful in autumn and I began this large painting at the Autumn show. There are a few smaller studies beneath this piece of work too. It’s intriguing to imagine the small forest animals in the undergrowth or hiding below ground in their burrows. I found a few nuts which I have placed on the easel for their colours and textures to inspire me.
