Painting from memory helps to create expressive results. I avoid looking at photographs and try to work from my imagination. I like to use colour freely and intuitively remembering trips to a place as well as the atmosphere and character. I have fond memories visiting Mousehole with my Grandmother; popping into the little shops there and eating ice cream. Sometimes we would travel onto Marazion near St. Michael’s Mount and paddle in the sea there where the waves were smaller and safer.
