I began this painting a few months ago at the Spring Garden Malvern show. It’s an imaginary painting inspired by cats in our nearby town gardens. The colourful pigeons which are dotted about the gardens in the vegetation, are watching the cats. I really enjoy experimenting with unusual plant shapes and interspersing them in the landscape to make new compositions. I wanted the path to add structure and a touch of gravity to the overall painting.
